Even though the Football World Cup in South Africa is in three and a half years time, preparations for the competition are happening quickly. The most attention is going to stadiums and infrastructure. Also important, is the actual process of qualifications by which countries will be chosen to make “vizas” for Afrika.

The first phase is complete, and invitations have been sent to all 207 FIFA members.

South Africa as the host automatically qualifies, 13 places are reserved for countries from Europe, five for Afrika, seven for both South and North America combined, four for Asia, and the last one for Oceanasia.
